Chamber Offers Business Classes

The Treasure Island & Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce offers free chamber classes on a variety of topics to businesses as well as residents.

Chamber Classes are held from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Chamber office, 245 – 107th Avenue, Treasure Island, 33706.

“We’re appreciative of the efforts of our member Mel Lenahan (Charles Rutenberg Realty, Inc.) in coordinating these classes,” said Chamber Board Chairman Joe Dise (Dise Wealth Management). “Our Chamber continually looks for ways to add value for our members and community. These classes are an excellent way to give our members important and useful information at no cost to them.”

December 13: Anna Marie Millett, Investigator and Outreach Coordinator, Pinellas County Consumer Protection

An overview of the many aspects of protecting consumers from unscrupulous practices and scams, and making sure the public is educated. January 10: Tom Cox, Attorney

Learn about a variety of legal topics. Why and how to designate a Health Care Surrogate or Pre-Need Guardian and the purpose of a Durable Power-of-Attorney. February 14: Shrimatee Ojah-Maharaj, Urban Planning/Economic Development

Ojah-Maharaj has experience in Grants/ Contracts and a history of working in the government administration industry. She is skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Small Business Retention and Expansion, and Small Business Enterprise Program Development & Administration. She will discuss grant research and ways grants can be used to expand a small business.

March 14: Hon. Mike Twitty, Pinellas County Property Appraiser

An inside look at the appraisal process, allowable exemptions, and more.
